This is an update regarding flood damage that occurred in your area on August 28, 2023. The District continues to work in close cooperation with representatives from WV DEP, FEMA, the Regional Intergovernmental Council, WV Emergency Services, New River Engineers, and other federal, state, and local officials regarding the flood restoration project. The project remains in review by FEMA and as well as Homeland Security. These reviews are necessary to comply with federal, state, and local requirements. The recent federal government shutdown has caused some delay, but the District continues to stay committed to working through the requirements. Your continued patience throughout this lengthy process is greatly appreciated.
