This is an update regarding flood damage that occurred in the Winifrede and Little Creek areas on August 28, 2023. The District continues to work in close cooperation with representatives from FEMA, the Regional Intergovernmental Council, WV Emergency Services, and New River Engineers regarding the flood restoration project. The project has recently received clearance from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and is currently being reviewed for cultural and historical impact. These reviews are necessary to comply with federal, state, and local requirements. Your continued patience throughout this lengthy process is greatly appreciated.
